The patented iron chelate in Athlete’s Iron™ doesn’t require any additional metabolic conversion to be absorbed. The inorganic iron forms; oxide, fumerate, sulfate, require a few internal process to make the iron recognized by the body and then absorbed.
The above chemical reaction occurs prior to the body being able to efficiently to be absorbed more efficiently and effectively. If the Iron is not chelated the Iron may compete with Calcium receptors, which interfere with Iron absorption.
